Sterling Miller has spent over 25 years helping clients solve disputes and litigation, deal with government regulations and regulators, draft business agreements, investigate wrongdoing, and protect data privacy rights. He serves as Senior Counsel at Hilgers Graben, focusing on Complex Litigation, Commercial Agreements, Regulatory, Data Privacy, and Internal Investigations.
Sterling joined Hilgers Graben after twenty-plus years of successful in-house practice, most recently serving as General Counsel, corporate Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer to Sabre Corporation and, before that, as General Counsel to Travelocity.com.
Sterling brings to Hilgers Graben substantial experience in all stages of state, federal, and international litigation and arbitration, including “bet the company” litigation. He also has substantial experience with contracts, business torts, anti-trust, bankruptcy, tax, insurance, unfair business practices, and employment issues. Sterling has significant experience in a variety of other issues, including corporate governance, U.S. and foreign regulatory compliance, government affairs, e-commerce, and data privacy. Sterling has experience in risk assessment and ensuring corporate compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Sterling is an innovative problem solver. In 2007, Inside Counsel magazine named the Travelocity Legal Department as one of the “Ten Most Innovative” legal departments in the United States. In 2008, the Sabre Legal Department was awarded with Honorable Mention for the same award during his first year as General Counsel. Sterling was also a finalist for the Dallas Business Journal’s “Best Corporate Counsel” award in 2007 and 2008. He serves on several boards and is a member of the American Bar Association’s Legal Project Management Task Force. He is certified in data privacy/data security by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (CIPP/US) and prepared the firm’s “Data Privacy Compendium & Online Desk Book“. Sterling was a presenter at “South by Southwest” in March 2016 discussing data breach issues.
Sterling is an active participant in legal and industry panels and has written several legal articles.
